Over the summer I came up with the idea for a fairly ambitious project – using the audience to create a selection of evolving, ambient musical compositions. To do this, I have began developing several prototype devices, each of which uses different sensors to relay control messages to various synthesizers. I Recently made a list of all the effects pedals i’ve owned. In total, I remembered just shy of 200, and Then – because i’m a nerd, i started to try and rank them; from Boss’s apparent attempts to recreate the sound of a wasp trapped in a tin can of the DS1, to the magnificent, joyous clang of the Electro Harmonix Frequency Analyzer. So, I’ve got a new website up and running. Content will trickle onto the pages over the coming months.
At the moment (September ’17) I am sketching up plans for a new project which I hope to have ready by spring 2018. The project itself is a fairly complex affair, and places me firmly outside of my comfort zone of making beats in my pyjamas.
I’ll have more news soon, some prototype images, sketches and updates on my record which was supposed to land in May, but has been delayed by, well, everything…
